Today I found out that yesterday Dad had brought home a new rescue bunny from the Pets@Home adoption centre. He fell in love with him and simply had to take him and we certainly have the space at the mo, as there's only one bunny in the shed and 3 empty hutches.
He's called Spot and no one wanted him as he was suffering from mange and so didn't look very good. However now he's just gorgeous and as you can see from the pic Dad's besotted :D

Had a terrible time in Tescos listening to loud screaming from all the little kids in the place, Just one of those days when shopping is even more hideous than normal.

9th September

My poor DeeDee lost her battle against the tumour as the vet said that it had spread to her lungs and there was no hope for her.

10th September

Just moved and my back went into spasms trapping my sciatic nerve. The moral is that these things happen without warning so nothing you can do about it.

11th September

Met up with Jane and Richard to show her some sights while she's down and it made me realise how little I go and see of my own county. We had a great time and it was so brill to see her again.

This was the points when I realised that I really love these books but if I carry on reading them at this rate (one every couple of days) I soon won't have any left until another one comes out. Boo hoo!!

6th September

Chris treated me to a McFlurry and they just have the new Aero ones in so I thought I'd try the mint one. Our local branch not being staffed by rocket scientists then had a protracted conversation about whether 'someone' went to Penzance to collect the mint sauce and eventually told us there was none. I opted for the choc one instead, and when we pulled out and I tasted it..it was mint. Go figure :D

7th September

I've been feeling more down since coming back from holiday and finding leaking roof, intermittent electrical fault and a bathroom which should be gutted at the end of the week. It's so nice to know that I have friends who will be there to help when I need a moan, a hug or simply someone there for me.

Today I learned rather painfully that hanging a gate while wearing sandals isn't a good idea. Neither is not watching where the gate is in relation to your exposed toes as it drops back onto the hangers and creates a toe sandwich.
At least nothing was broken so no harm really. I shall be more careful next time that's for sure!!

From climbing up on the roof to reseal the conservatory, as it was leaking again in the downpour we had, I discovered just how much clean-up of hands can be avoided with simply using a pair of disposable latex gloves. Didn't even need to wash my hands afterwards. So much better than I have done before :D

I decided this year to join the new Shimelle class, thanks to Tee for letting me know it was running. Throghout the month you have to keep a journal or make a book detailing what you have learned each day.

Today I learned that people don't have to live nearby to be close friends, like Alison on UKS.

On the 2nd I learnt that electricity has a mind of it's own and trying to diagnose problems with the circuits is possibly best left to those with either the right equipment or certainly more patience than me!!!

It's been sitting on the shelf empty for ages and so I decided that I'd have to DO something with it. And this is the result.

This was bought at a K9 Crusaders jumble sale as a deep picture frame that you could decorate. I had hung onto it for ages, not liking the design that came with it but not sure what to do with it instead.

However, I emptied some of my small seed beads from their pots into larger containers and then had this idea. Each small pot will now correspond to a country visited and I will take them with me and fill it with whatever I think epitomises that country.

I have already done Tunisia from 2006 as I had loads of Sahara sand that we brought back in a jar. And Egypt I used a photograph along with some shavings off a rock that we brought back from the Valley of the Kings, and I know I pressed a reed from the Nile in a book somewhere too.

This LO is for the 20th June entry in Shimelle's Month of Colour. The project had to be using earth tones, so here she is!! This is Astra my friend's rescue collie who just LOVEs to play with her raggy toys and will herd you up until she gets a game. She got on so well with Chris and he even got kisses from her, which is almost unheard of as she's still quite nervy of men after a rough start.

Challenge 3 (18th Jan) was to then create a LO using the fingerprint card with the theme of the usual suspects. Mine is Chris drinking beer the night before going off to Canada.

WEEK 1.

Week 1 of Shimelle's Scrap Like You Mean It Challenge was to scrap using your favourite colour. Mine is purple but I hardly ever use it, so here it is with yet another pic from Canada.

WEEK 2.

Shimelle's challenge this week was to include either hearts or stars in your LO. I chose stars for a change and used a pic of Chad from the concert in September at NEC.
Papers are DCWV Rockstar (how appropriate) with acetate and card printed stars from Photoshop. The badge came from Woolies and was vandalised to stick on the page.

I picked Option E first which was I DON’T FALL INTO ANY PARTICULAR CATEGORY
Your challenge is to:
- Make a layout using neutral colours 10 pts
- Scrap picture(s) which represents day to day life rather than a special occasion 10 pts
- Incorporate stickers, rub-ons or cut an embellishment from patterned paper or card 5 pts
- Use at least one of the techniques featured in question 5 5 pts

- Make a layout using just plain card stocks and just one patterned paper 10 pts
